Understanding place value units: ones, tens, and hundreds.

Adding and subtracting within 1000 using strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and the relationship between addition and subtraction.
Practicing word problems to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Introducing the concept of regrouping (carrying and borrowing) in addition and subtraction.

Exploring the concept of even and odd numbers.

Identifying and describing shapes (squares, circles, triangles, rectangles, hexagons, cubes, cones, cylinders, and spheres).

Understanding the attributes of shapes (number of sides, vertices, angles, etc.)
